「国境なき医師団」は、シリア当局の許可が下りないため、現地で医療活動はしていませんが、支援している現地の医師や、けがをしたデモの参加者の証言を基に、現状を報告しました。
それによりますと、シリアの病院は治安当局の監視下に置かれ、デモに参加してけがをした人は、病院で逮捕されたり拷問されたりするおそれがあることから、治療を受けることができないということです。
また、けが人を治療した医師も逮捕されるため、医師の中には、秘密裏に診療所を設けて治療に当たっている人もいますが、治安当局に見つからないよう、場所を変え続けなければならず、簡単な治療しかできないということです。
